How much are tickets, and what do I get?
Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the gate for beer sampling and a catfish dinner with all the fixings ($25 in advance and $30 at the gate for Beer Only tickets). Your ticket includes 15 drink tokens. Each token is good for a 3-oz sample of beer (4 tokens for a full 12-oz pour), a 1.5-oz sample of wine, or a 1/4-oz sample of spirits. Some higher percentage and specialty items may require additional tokens. You can purchase additional tokens for $0.50 each.
I don’t want to buy a ticket. Can I just buy tokens for beer?
Anyone is welcome to attend the festival and enjoy all the events, but only ticket holders will be able to sample beers, wines, and spirits.
What can I do with my extra tokens?
Save them for next year, or donate them to one of the charities supported by our event! We will have an area at the festival where you can learn about these charities and drop your extra tokens in the box for your favorite. For each token, we’ll make a donation equal to what brewers receive.
When will beer be served?
Admission starts at 9:45 am, and taps start flowing at 10 am. Last call is 9 pm, and the festival shuts down at 10 pm.
What beers will be served?
Follow us on social media to keep track of what’s coming. A complete list will be posted here closer to the festival.
I’m not a fan of beer. Will you have any other alcoholic drinks?
Yes! Arkansas distilleries and wineries will be represented at the festival, and you can use your tokens for these drinks the same way you use them with brewers (but for smaller samples).
Will I need to show ID?
Yep. From age 1 to 121, if you want all the markings and such that let you buy beer, you have to show a valid driver’s license or state ID card. No one under 21 will be allowed to sample beer even if they purchased a beer ticket. It’s also important to know that while the festival will age check all beer ticket holders, the brewers, distillers, and vintners will age check anyone they suspect to be too young. If you get carded at a beer stand, consider it flattery! Anyone underage who attempts to get a sample will be ejected from the festival. The same goes for anyone who attempts to share a sample with someone who is not a ticketholder or is under age.
My kid is (16, 17, 18, 19, 20). Can’t s/he have a drink if I’m with ’em?
Not in Arkansas. The minimum drinking age for anyone under any circumstances within the state is 21. If you pass your kid a beer, at best you’ll be removed from the festival, and at worst you’ll take a trip a few blocks to the city jail. We don’t make the alcohol laws, but we definitely follow them!
Can I get a designated driver ticket?
Admission to the festival is free, and tickets are not necessary unless you plan to drink. Catfish dinner tickets are available in advance for $12. A limited number of catfish dinner tickets will be available at the gate for $15.
When will catfish be served?
Serving lines open at 5 pm. Cook off teams will stop serving at 6 pm.
I’m not a fan of crowds, but I love catfish. Can I get a plate to go?
We think the answer is yes, but we’re still working out the details on a drive through pick up line. We’ll post here once we’re sure.
I’m not a fan of catfish. Will there be other food?
Yes! We’ll have food trucks from around the state serving food both savory and sweet, and two downtown restaurants (Slim and Shorty’s and Java Primo) offer great meals and an escape from the crowds.
Can I bring my dog?
We promise we love your dog almost as much as you do, but there aren’t any available places for Spot to do his business. Not to mention what happens when he tries to play fetch at the pumpkin catapult. For his safety and comfort, Spot will be happiest at home.
Can I bring my children?
Are you kidding? What’s a fall festival without kiddos? Please do bring them. They’ll love the pumpkin catapults almost as much as you. And the bounce zone. Or Nerf Wars. And lots of other things!
Can I bring chairs?
We’ll have some chairs and tables, but we encourage you to bring your chairs or blankets, stake out a home base, and make a day of it.
Can I bring food or drinks?
With the exception of rations for your youngest tikes (those best served with baby food and milk), we ask that you not bring food or drink into the festival. Unlike most festivals, don’t expect to be gouged when you need to eat or grab a refreshing drink. The festival is selling soft drinks for $2 and bottled water for $1. The food trucks and restaurants will be selling at their everyday prices. Beer ticket holders will have access to free water at the brewery booths.
I hate porta potties. Do the local shops have bathrooms?
Never fear! We hate porta potties, too, but they are a fact of life for festival goers. Fortunately, we think you’ll find at least one facility that suits your needs. From traditional porta potties that will be checked hourly for toilet paper and “issues” to handwashing stations to handicap accessible stalls, we have most people covered. If you seek a “real” restroom, please be courteous to the downtown merchants and thank them for their facilities with a purchase.
Can I leave and come back?
Yes, but no alcohol is allowed off the festival grounds. If you are observed with alcohol outside the festival grounds, you may be ticketed for public consumption or other unpleasant things best left unexplored. To re-enter the festival, all ticket holders must visit the age check station and show a valid ID and ticket.
Can I distribute information at the event?
We all see enough unwanted solicitation on Facebook, so please keep your materials at home. Vendors and sponsors may distribute limited materials. If you’d like that opportunity, please contact us about becoming a sponsor or vendor.
Will there be free parking?
Absolutely! Parking is available throughout downtown Arkadelphia. We will also run free shuttles to and from hotels in Caddo Valley. Arkadelphia also has a few taxis, and they are marked. Please be safe and responsible when planning your transportation.
What if it rains?
We’ll all get wet, but we’ll still get to enjoy some great beer and food! Anything can happen, but in the last 20 years, it has rained only once on October 10th in Arkadelphia, and that was less than 1/10th of an inch.
Do you accept credit/debit cards or checks?
We accept credit/debit cards online, and we will accept cash and credit/debit cards the day of the festival. We do not accept checks. Some vendors may only accept cash, but many are prepared to accept cards. Our downtown has four major banks with ATMs, and they will make sure they are fully stocked for the festival.
Can I smoke at the festival?
Smoking is not allowed within the festival site with the exception of a contained smoking area marked on the festival map. Note that anyone found smoking outside of the smoking area will be ejected from the festival and not allowed to return.
Something has come up, and I can’t make it that weekend. Can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, we cannot process refund requests. However, all tickets are transferable, so you may give or sell your ticket(s) to someone else for equal or lesser value.
